CAN I BE BAPTIZED?

  • We believe in water Baptism by immersion after one’s confession of faith, repenting of sins, and receiving Christ's gift of salvation. Baptism symbolizes new life in Christ and testifies to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Baptism models Christ’s example and command in scripture:

Matthew 28: 18-20 – Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

At LOJ, the prerequisite for baptism participants is to attend a few classes. These classes help participants gain a better understanding of the entire baptismal process, and their new Christian life.
